In 2018,13 ship-shaped brick-chambered burials of Five Dynasties to Northern Song were excavated at Zhangzhuang Cemetery in Haizhou District,Lianyungang.In terms of shapes,structures,the objects buried within,and the techniques used in the construction of the tomb chambers,these tombs differ greatly from their counterparts found in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,and bear strong regional characteristics.New archaeological evidence and materials have been gathered for the research into the shapes and structures,construction techniques,periodization and dating,and distribution and spread of ship-shaped brick-chambered burials of Five Dynasties to Northern Song.
