From April to May in 2021,Zhumadian Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and other units carried out joint excavations which preceded the construction of TECON Hongzhan Forage Factory in Runan County.Tombs dating back to the time from the Northern Dynasties to the Tang Dynasty were excavated,and they are found to be small and medium-sized tombs.Basically,broken bricks were piled up to build the tombs.In the light of all the finds,the tombs were the burial sites of the poor.Although the tombs have been disturbed to different extents,there are diversified funeral objects with distinct features of their times.The discoveries provide new material evidence for the research into the institutions and rites of burials of the poor in Zhumadian in the Tang Dynasty.
