Comparison of quality of Dipsacus asperoides from various habitats
OBJECTIVE To compare the quality of Dipsacus asperoides from different habitats. METHODS The content of asperosaponin Ⅵ was determined by HPLC and the content of total saponins was determined by colorimetric method. RESULTS Asperosaponin Ⅵ contents of 9 provinces and cities nationwide 14 samples from different areas were in the range of 0.51%-10.14%; Total saponins were in the range of 2.20%-19.91%. CONCLUSION There are great changes in the content of total saponins and asperosaponin Ⅵ contents among the different originations,and the content is relatively higher in genuine growing area. It provided the valuable basis for quality assessment of Dipsacus asperoides and development production of genuine Chinese medicine material.
