Research progress on citric acid and its derivatives in the prevention and treatment of renal calcium oxalate stones
Calcium oxalate kidney stones represent the most prevalent disease of the urinary system.This article reviews the possible mechanisms of citric acid and its derivatives in preventing and treating renal calcium oxalate stones from five aspects:Affecting metabolites in urine,inhibiting crystal growth,changing crystal phase,regulating protein activity,and antioxidation.This provides a basis and reference for the clinical application of oral medication in the treatment of renal stones.
