Joint application of three-dimensional sonar and multibeam echosounder in pier patrol inspection
Bridge pier foundation is an important load-bearing structure of bridge structures, which is at risk of being damaged by current scour,so it is necessary to inspect underwater pier foundation. This paper proposes a method of the joint application of three-dimensional sonar and multibeam echosounder in underwater bridge pier patrol inspection. The three-dimensional sonar is applied to the detection of the underwater bridge pier foundation and the multibeam echosounder is applied to the measurement of the riverbed around the foundation, which can fully utilize the advantages of the two devices to obtain three-dimensional images and water depth data, and accurately match and merge the two types of data by position and attitude information, and display the results in an integrated three-dimensional image. The effectiveness of the method is verified by an actual case of underwater pier foundation inspection of a river crossing bridge in Zhejiang Province. This method can be widely applied to underwater pier inspection projects and provide basic data support for the safe operation of bridges.
