Simulation analysis of BDS-3 and GPS positioning performance in polar region
To research the positioning performance of BDS-3 and GPS in the polar region.Based on STK software, the satellite visibility and GDOP values of the two systems in four polar scientific research stations and polar areas are simulated and analyzed. The results show that the positioning performance of BDS-3 in the eastern hemisphere is better than that in the western hemisphere within the polar region of 60°~80°.When the latitude exceeds 80°,there is no significant difference between the eastern and western hemispheres;Compared with GPS,the positioning performance of the BDS-3 is better than GPS in the range of latitude 60°~80° and longitude 50°~180°.In other regions of the polar region, the average number of visible satellites is about 1 less than that of GPS and GDOP values have little difference. In addition, the GDOP value of the BDS-3 changes more smoothly. It shows that the spatial distribution of BDS-3 satellite in the polar region is more reasonable.
