As the mining operation of offshore oil and gas resources moves from shallow water to the deep seas, marine environmental conditions become more challenging, and the safety of offshore oil and gas platforms as well as their personnel is the topmost priority in the design and operation of the platform.Interational researchers in the field began to study the structural health monitoring technology of offshore platforms in the 1980 s.In general deep water floating platform structural health monitoring technology can achieve the long-term monitoring of the overall performance of the platform structure as well as its local damage. It is an important topic in the effort for digitalizing floating platform structure. This essay conducts an analysis of the main components of the platform structural health monitoring system, which also takes relevant regulations in to consideration, and puts forward the key points of the technologies of structural health monitoring and inspection technology, including sensing system, data transmission, processing system, digital system, etc. The analysis may facilitate the development of floating platform structural health monitoring technology and inspection technology.
