PRELIMINARY STUDY ON BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF COLOLABIS SAIRA IN THE NORTHWEST PACIFIC OCEAN IN SPRING
Based on the data of Coloiabis saira by investigated in the northwest Pacific high sea from May to July in 2009 and from April to July in 2010, the biological characteristics of Coloiabis saira in the northwest Pacific Ocean were studied. The result indicated that the fork length varied between 161 and 333 mm in 2009, the dominant fork length varied between 260 and 320 mm in 2009, there was no difference between months in 2009. The fork length ranged from 108 to 344 mm in 2010, the dominant fork length varied between 240 and 300 mm in 2010, there was also no difference between months in 2010. The length distributions between 2009 and 2010 had a marked difference and there was a large difference between female and male respectively by ANOVA. The sex ratio remained 1. 32 and 1. 18 in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Maturity at Ⅱ and Ⅲ of the gonad were dominant in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The feeding grade for 2009 and 2010 were both dominated by grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3. The weight varied between 21 and 257g in 2009 and 9 and 220g in 2010. The distribution of weight had a significant difference by ANOVA. The relationship between weight and fork length had a marked difference both in 2009 and 2010 by ANOVA. Have a conclusion of that the Coloiabis saira in 2009 and2010 are belong to different populations.
