Three-dimensional dynamic sea surface modeling and ocean echo simulation
The research and development of radar systems generally require repeated tests. In order to solve the problem of wasting a lot of manpower and material resources in field tests, this paper estab-lished an echo simulator mainly based on sea clutter, which was used for radar tests to reduce costs.Based on the Elfouhaily spectrum, the nonlinear dynamic sea surface was established by using the Choppy wave model, and the sea surface was divided into different resolution units by using the grid mapping method. This paper combined the gridded sea surface with the backscatter characteristics of the echo to generate a simulated echo for the first time. And in the simulation process,an algorithm for correcting the grazing angle based on the characteristics of the waves was proposed. Finally, the simu-lated echo was analyzed and fitted with the measured and theoretical data, which proved the effective-ness of the simulated echo.
