Chinese Antarctic aviation meteorological service lacks experience currently. In order to provide reference for operational and scientific works, this paper reviews the aviation meteorological service for the 39th Chinese Antarctic Scientific Research Expedition, introduces the specific support processes and methods, and proposes the prospective of future work.Aviation meteorological service in polar regions should be emphasized on the choice of a suitable flight window period, the utilization of multi-sources numerical weather prediction products, and the analysis of bias between forecasts and in-situ observations. In addition,it is necessary to study the law of local weather changes such as katabatic wind, and provide reasonable meteorological suggestions after adquately exchange views with the captain of the airplane.
