The organum of the Notre Dame School in Paris is a landmark for the rhythmic forms and notation techniques of medieval polyphonic music.This article reviews earlier western research literature and combines key manuscripts to study the musical forms and notation styles of the Notre Dame organum in the 12th and 13th centuries.
