Although Zhang Taiyan did not specifically wrote articles on Dong Zhongshu,he did make some comments in his works on Dong Zhongshu.Zhang Taiyan criticized Dong Zhongshu in terms of politics for providing ideological weapons and ad-vocating"exclusive respect for Confucianism"for the authoritarian unified empire,which has important historical significance.At the academic level,there are both positive and negative evaluations on Dong Zhongshu,while the criticism of"adjudicating suits in line with Confucian classics during the Spring and Autumn period"is somewhat biased.When discussing the relationship between Dong Zhongshu and Confucianism and even religion,he successfully applied the modern philosophical principles of the relationship between philosophy and religion,and made some development and breakthroughs,which is worthy of high praise.
