Effect of Perceptual States on Pupil Sizes:A Study of Bistable Stimuli
The influence of perceptual states on pupil sizes was investigated using multiple bistable stimuli(Experiment One)and cue-priming paradigms(Experiment Two). When participants viewed the face-vase bistable stimulus, the results showed that the average pupil diameter in the vase perceptual state was significantly larger than that in the face perceptual state, indicating that pupil size was influenced by the cognitive process of perceptual states.
