This paper compiled Catalogue of Aquatic Vertebrate in Hangzhou 2023,which recorded 305 species of aquatic vertebrate in five classes,27 orders,76 families,174 genera,including 244 species of fish(including 21 exotic species),42 species of amphibian,13 species of reptile,and six species of mammal.There were seven species of national first-class protected animals and 16 species of national second-class protected animals.There were 228 species of fish and four species of cetacean distributed in the Qiantang River,114 species of fish and one species of cetacean distributed in the East Tiaoxi River,81 species of fish distributed in the Grand Canal,and 70 species of fish widely distributed in above three water systems.In summary,strengthening scientific research and monitoring,protecting the water and wetland environment,increasing science popularization and improving laws and regulations are crucial for the protection,management and utilization of aquatic vertebrates in Hangzhou.
