A New Plant Variety from Jiangxi Province,China:Strobilanthes dalzielii var.longnanensis(Acanthaceae)
Based on morphological evidence,a new variety of Strobilanthes dalzielii(W.W.Smith)Benoist,i.e.Strobilanthes dalzielii(W.W.Smith)Benoist var.longnanensis G.L.Xu W.Hu from Anjishan Forestry Station,Jiulian Mountain,Jiangxi Province,was described.The morphological characteristics of this variety is similar to Strobilanthes dalzielii(W.W.Smith)Benoist.Differently,the inflorescence axis and peduncle are sparsely covered with 1-2 mm white long glandular hairs,and both surfaces of the bracts,the distal surface of the bracts,and the distal surface of the sepals are also sparsely covered with 1-2 mm long white glandular-pubescent along midveins.The filaments are glabrous,which is significantly different from the original variety.
