Childhood Trauma and Non-suicidal Self-injury:A Moderated Mediation Model
The relationships between childhood trauma,non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI),reinforcement sensitivity and gratitude were investigated by using Childhood Trauma Questionnaire,Gratitude Questionnaire,Behavioral Inhibition/Behavioral Activation System Scale and Non-suicidal Self-injury Scale in 746 college students. After controlling the effects of gender and age, childhood trauma could significantly positively predict NSSI of college students, and reinforcement sensitivity had a masking effect between the two.The masking effect of reinforcement sensitivity on childhood trauma and NSSI was moderated by gratitude, and gratitude could enhance the influence of childhood trauma on NSSI,suggesting that gratitude played a moderating role in the masking effect of reinforcement sensitivity between childhood trauma and NSSI.
