Effect of Coal Gangue on the Fusion Characteristics of Low-Ash-Melting-Point Coal Ash
The fusion characteristics of coal ash are crucial for evaluating the clean and efficient conver-sion of coal, directly affecting its gasification process. This study explores how the addition of coal gangue(CG)can alter the silica-to-alumina ratio(SiO2/Al2O3)in two low-ash-melting-point coals,Runbei Coal(RBC)and Ekuang Coal(EKC),thereby affecting their ash fusion characteristics.Using an ash fusion temperature measurement device and FactSage thermodynamic software, the results indicate that as the content of CG ash(CGA)increases, the ash fusion point of RBC and EKC gradually rises. When CGA is mixed with RBC ash,a greater quantity of SiO2 and Al2O3 is produced under high temperatures, causing the ash fusion temperature to increase as the silica-to-alumina ratio(S/A)decreases.The RBC ash fusion temperature rises to 1381℃ when the S/A value is 1.83.Similarly,when CGA is added to EKC ash,high-melting-point Leucite and Kaliophilite are generated under high temperatures, causing the ash fusion point to increase with a decreasing S/A ratio. The EKC ash fusion point reaches 1376℃ when the S/A ratio is 1.80.
