The acceptance to Du Fu's Journey to the North in the Ming and Qing dynasties showed a trend of alienation and diversification. In the early and middle Ming Dynasty,it was not well accepted due to its five-char-acter novel form and straightforward narrative style. With the rise of individual liberation consciousness and the di-versification of poetic aesthetic orientations, the poetic status of Journey to the North was elevated in the late Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, during the wave of annotating and learning from Du Fu,the acceptance to Journey to the North reached its peak. The cultural environment and aesthetic trends were the main factors influencing trans-formation of the acceptance.
