The Evolution of the Image of Mount Liangshan in Outlaws of the Marsh Based on AntConc
Previous studies on the images in Outlaws of the Marsh have mostly focused on the characters,with little attention paid to Mount Liangshan.Based on self-built AntConc database,this article compares and analyzes the similarities and differences in the perception of the image of Mount Liangshan between the original and Shaboli's translation version.It is found that the image of Mount Liangshan had undergone three typical stages of transfor-mation,namely,from a natural geographical image to a forest bandit image,and then to a loyal and righteous hero image;that the evolution of Mount Liangshan image was consistent with the progression of Mount Liangshan stories,and that the expression of Mount Liangshan image in the translation version reflected the translator's subjectivity.
