Woolf in China:A Perspective on the Translation of A Room of One's Own in China
A Room of One's Own represented Virginia Woolf's feminist ideas and was also known as a mani-festo for women's liberation.In 1928,the works was first introduced to China,marking the beginning of China's acceptance of Woolf,and it was not until 1947 that the first complete Chinese translation appeared.In the 1980s,A Room of One's Own was included in multiple anthologies,and it has constantly been re-translated in the 21st century.The study of the translation process of this works shows three stages of the acceptance of Woolf in China,from stream of consciousness writers to female novelists,and then to feminist,which is closely related to the under-standing and acceptance of A Room of One's Own in the social,historical,and cultural context at that time.
