There were similarities in the story clues and themes between Journey to the West and The Water Margin,and even they could be mutually verified and studied.Both masterpieces artistically depicted and deeply reflected on the character and fate of the ancient Chinese vagrant community.Both authors had ideological contra-dictions in their storytelling,reflecting their deep reflections that were inconsistent with the theme of the works.
