Ethnic writing is one of the means of Sinicization used by the Hu people to integrate into Han society and dilute their ethnic identity,which is manifested in the fact that the Hu have changed their family name,grafted their lineage,and attached themselves to Han ancestors and counties in order to form an ethnic identity through the writing of their ethnicity as"originating from the Han".During the Sui and Tang dynasties,the Houmo Chen family had close contact with the Liu family name in the pro-cess of changing their family name repeatedly,and utilized the ancestral resources of the Liu family name to construct a history of originating from Liu and taking refuge in the border.With the records of the origin of the Houmo Chen's tombstone,it is possible to historically"restore"the process of the Houmo Chen's attachment to the Han Chinese origin.The content of the genealogical writing shows the characteristic that the later it came out the more sophisticated it became,and this process of knowledge integration reflects the development of the Houmo Chen family's deepening understanding of Han culture and increasing sense of identity.
