Evaluation studies of cleaning effect of contaminants on stone relics'surface based on principle of color difference
[Objective]In response to the color correlation of contaminants on stone relics'surface before and after cleaning,a method was proposed to evaluate the cleaning effect of contaminants on stone relics'surface by using the color parameter as an indicator.[Method]First, the results of the on-site cleaning test were recorded by the colorimeter;second, the recorded data were imported into the SPSS analysis software and the correlation between color and cleaning effect was analyzed by resorting to the principal component analysis(PCA),the linear regression and the Pearson's correlation coefficient;then, the calculation results were graded by virtue of the color difference formula to evaluate the overall cleaning effect;finally, the color parameters were analyzed by conducting the normality test and partial least squares method to validate the reliability of the calculation results.[Result]Brightness is positively correlated with cleaning effect, with the impact of weight 39.061%;the red-green and yellow-blue degree size is negatively correlated with the amount of contaminant residue while positively correlated with cleaning effect;chromaticity difference and color difference arenegatively correlated with cleaning effect, and the smaller the difference in chromaticity, the more intact the original appearance of the cultural relics. The cleaning effect evaluation results show that the stone gate is rated good, and the stone temple and the stone pavilion are rated general.[Conclusion]By analyzing the correlation between cleaning effect and color of contaminants, and employing the method of evaluating the cleaning effect of stone relics by means of the color difference formula, new ideas and methods can be provided for further research on evaluating the cleaning effect of stone relics.
