Urban public space is the reflection of a city's material civilization and spiritual outlook,and is the main place for citizens and tourists to experience urban culture.Urban public space with distinct local historical characteristics is particularly important for a city.Taking the east gate scenic spot of Jingzhou Ancient City as an example,combined with environmental behavior science and the connotation of urban public space,this paper analyzes the public space environment and human behavior,and further discusses the reasons for the formation of the east gate scenic spot of Jingzhou Ancient City as a public activity place of Jingzhou city from the aspects of landmark,urban landscape,pedestrian street and square.
