Determination of Minimum Dry Density of Rubber Sand and Its Empirical Formula
Rubber sand can be used as backfill material for roadbed, slope, retaining wall and landfill, and also as energy dissipation isolation material, which has broad application prospect in civil engineering, but there are few researches on the basic physical properties of rubber sand. The minimum dry density of rubber sand with different proportions was studied by using the slow rotation method of the slow measuring cylinder, and the influence of various factors on it was analyzed. The results show that the minimum dry density of rubber sand decreases with the increase of rubber content. The minimum dry density of rubber sand increases gradually with the increase of the particle size ratio of rubber sand. When the clay content ranges from 0 to 20%,the minimum dry density of rubber sand decreases with the increase of clay content. The relation between the minimum dry density and the rubber content, the particle size ratio of mortar and the clay content is put forward, and the minimum dry density of rubber sand can be deduced from it.
