Effect of Serpentine Coarse Aggregate on the Water Permeability Resistance of Shielding Concrete
In order to study the effect of the particle size of serpentine coarse aggregate and its pre-wetting treatment on the water permeability of nuclear radiation shielding concrete, three continuous grades of serpentine coarse aggregate with particle size of 5~16 mm,5~20 mm and 5~25 mm were selected for pre-wetting and drying,respectively.Then,18 cubic concrete specimens were used for porosity test, and 108 round concrete specimens were used for water permeability test. The test results were compared and analyzed. The results show that under the same aggregate pretreatment condition, the porosity and relative permeability coefficient of serpentined concrete with particle size of 5~20 mm are lower than those of the other two particle sizes, and the water permeability resistance is better. For the same particle size of serpentite aggregate, the prewetting treatment can effectively reduce the porosity and relative permeability coefficient of concrete, and improve the overall compactness and water permeability resistance of concrete.Through data fitting,it is found that there is a high linear correlation between the relative permeability coefficient of serpentine-shielded concrete and the porosity, and the relative permeability coefficient can be predicted by the porosity.
