Overview of the united states naval oceanography operational system
U.S.Naval Oceanography provides assessment and decision-making for maritime military operations through the observation and prediction of oceanographic environment.In this paper,the operational system of the US Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and its Ⅳ and Ⅴ echelon command,which are responsible for oceanographic op-erations,is sorted out in detail.Taking Naval Oceanography to participate in a military exercise as an example,the responsib-ilities of each business unit are described.Finally,suggestions for the development of military oceanography are provided.
