Design and stability analysis of 5MW Ⅴ-type floating wind turbine platform
Based on the principle of static mechanics and the IMO requirements,a Ⅴ-type semi-submersible offshore platform equipped with NREL 5 MW wind turbine was designed, and its intact stability were calculated and verified. The results showed that the platform design is excellent and reasonable. The platform can ensure sufficient structural stability un-der both the operation condition and the survival condition for any inclination axis. The minimum allowable vertical center of gravity of the platform is 12.2 m during the survival condition, while the actual center of gravity is 9.6 m,which does not ex-ceed the allowable limit. It is noted that the 30° inclination axis is the platform's dangerous axis, for which the stability is rel-atively poor.It is thus necessary to pay attention to the lateral heeling movement of the platform under this inclination axis.
