Hull form optimization and interceptor design of a luxury cruise ship
In order to reduce the ship resistance and meet the economic needs of luxury cruise ship operation,the paper has carried out the full hull lines optimization and interceptor design based on resistance performance for an 80,000 GT lux-ury cruise ship.First of all,combined with the semi-parametric deformation of CAESES and the potential flow calculation method of SHPFLOW,the hull form optimization based on the minimum wave-making resistance is carried out for the tar-get ship.Then,STAR-CCM+is used to calculate the total viscous flow resistance for typical optimiation schemes,and the optimization effect is evaluated.Secondly,the design of interceptor is performed for the optimized hull form to further re-duce the total resistance.Finally,model tests are carried out for the optimized hull form.The test results show that the effect-ive power is reduced by 7.8%for the optimized hull form with interceptor,which proves that the applied method for hull form optimization and interceptor design of the luxury cruise ship is effective.
