Calculation and research of wave loads on ships with moon pool
Due to the special use of the salvage vessel Fenlihao,which has a self-contained open bottom moon pool and L/B>5 and B/D≤2.5,it no longer meets the conditions for calculating wave loads using standard formulas.Therefore,it is necessary to further determine its wave loads using direct calculation methods.This paper takes the Fenlihao as an example to briefly introduce the use of the three-dimensional frequency domain linear hydrodynamic calculation software SESAM to calculate the long-term and short-term forecast values of wave bending moment and wave shear force of the Fenlihao in dis-patch and work conditions,and compares them with the wave bending moment and shear force values calculated by the standard formula,providing a basis for the application of wave loads in the subsequent finite element analysis of the overall structural strength of the Fenlihao.
