An active target location technology based on underwater shock pulse echo detection
Underwater plasma acoustic source is a kind of high intensity, broadband and controllable sound source.Usually it has higher source level than conventional transducers. The location for the remote target can be realized through echo detection, when the high pressured pulse waves can not damage or disturb it.The property of the pulse waves produced by the plasma source,as well as the influence of the bottom reverberation and ambient noise on the active location,is stud-ied by simulation.Based on the simulation results,an active positioning model is established,in which the plasma is used as the active signal. Finally, processing the signals received by the 11 elements broadside array and the broadside three sub ar-rays,and the performance of the active locating by plasma acoustic source is analysed.
