Crashworthiness research of sandwich structure with negative Poisson's ratio
Negative Poisson's ratio materials are widely used in impact-resistant protective structures due to their unique stretching characteristics. This study aims to improve the impact resistance of protective structures.A negative Pois-son's ratio sandwich structure based on concave hexagonal negative Poisson's ratio materials was designed, and the impact resistance of the structure was simulated using finite element software Ls-dyna.By comparing the impact resistance of the negative Poisson's ratio sandwich structure under different loading conditions, the effects of loading shape and collision angle on the structural impact resistance were analyzed. The results show that the energy absorption process of the negative Poisson's ratio sandwich structure is mainly achieved through cell deformation, and the more cells involved in deformation, the better the impact resistance. This study provides new ideas and methods for the design of ship collision-resistant protect-ive structures and has practical application prospects.
