Effect of intake parameters performance of diesel ignited methanol engines
The intake temperature and pressure have a significant impact on the combustion efficiency and heat and mass transfer efficiency in the cylinder, which in turn affects the power and emission characteristics of diesel engines.There-fore,this paper conducts a study on the influence of intake parameters on the combustion and emission performance of dies-el fueled methanol engines.Research shows that compared to the original engine intake pressure of 1.91 bar, when the intake pressure is 2.31 bar,the maximum explosion pressure in the diesel engine cylinder increases by 14.3%,the final CO emis-sions decrease by 66.3%,the final soot emissions increase by 20.8%,and the final NOx emissions decrease by 2.8%.Com-pared with the original intake temperature of 380 K,when the intake temperature is 420 K,the maximum explosion pressure in the cylinder decreases by 4.2%,the final CO emissions increase by 2.3 times, the final soot emissions increase by 15.7%,and the final NOx emissions increase by 19.4%.The combination of two intake parameters can bring higher power and bet-ter emission performance to diesel engines. The research results of this article indicate that appropriate adjustment of intake pressure and temperature can improve the power performance and emission performance of diesel fueled methanol engines.
