Research on the influence of the moonpool position on resistance of the ship
Moonpool is a common cavity structure that runs through the hull of engineering ships,and its existence will affect the flow field around the ship.In order to analyze the influence of the position change of the moonpool on the resist-ance performance of the ship,the CFD simulation method was used to simulate the resistance of a diving support vessel,and the resistance of the whole ship was compared respectively when the moonpool structure moved longitudinally and horizont-ally.The results show that the change of resistance caused by the change of moonpool position is basically negligible,and the change value is less than 1.5%.In the process of location design of the moonpool,only the layout of the equipment in the cabin can be considered.And the resistance performance of the ship can be predicted by simulation.
