Effect of Diets Adding Soybean Oil and Pine Needle Powder On Manure and Methane Emissions of Northern Shaanxi White Cashmere Goats
To study the effect of diets adding soybean oil and pine needle powder on feces, urine and methane emissions of northern Shaanxi white Cashmere goats,36 White Cashmere Goats in northern Shaanxi (at age of 1 full year) with good physiological condition and similar weight, were selected randomly and divided into four treatment groups, among which group A was the control group fed with based diet;group B,group C and group D were experimental groups fed with 98% basal diet+2% soybean oil,98% basal diet+the mixture of 1% pine needle powder and 1% soybean oil,98% basal diet+2% pine needle powder, respectively.Breeding experiments were conducted for 40d,in a twentieth day feeding trial of digestion and metabolism experiment and methane emissions for 7 days of determination. The results showed that:(1) compared with control group, diets in the 3 experimental groups did not affect on the total emissions of unit weight feces, urine and manure significantly (P>0.05),but the unit weight of manure emissions reduced in experimental groups.(2) unit weight methane emissions in group B and group C were 40.74% and 37.04% lower than the control group (P<0.05),respectively;that in group D had no significant difference (P>0.05) from the control group,14.82% lower than the control group. The results indicated that adding soybean diet and pine needle powder can improve the average daily gain, reduce fecal and urine and methane emissions of northern Shaanxi white Cashmere goats.
