Ventilation Parameters and Application Effect of Pregnant Piggery in Subtropical Region in Winter
In order to address the issue of high concentration of pollutants in pig houses and respiratory diseases in pigs due to the unreasonable design of winter ventilation quantity under subtropical climate con-ditions,this study combined theoretical analysis with on-site experiments.A closed mechanical ventilation pregnant sow house in Guangxi was selected as an example.According to the theoretical calculations and analyses of heat balance, humidity balance, and CO2 balance, the necessary winter ventilation quantity was determined. The thermal environment, air quality, and ventilation efficiency of the experimental pig house under this ventilation quantity were then measured and analyzed. The results indicated that the de-sign of winter ventilation quantity for pig houses in subtropical regions should primarily be based on inter-nal heat balance. The theoretical value of necessary ventilation quantity for the pig house was 81 m3/h.Under this ventilation rate, the thermal environment parameters such as temperature and relative humidity in the experimental pig house meet the production requirements for pregnant sows. The air quality parame-ters such as NH3,CO2,PM2.5,PM10 were significantly lower than national standards. The temperature and humidity, and the harmful gases inside the house were evenly distributed, with high ventilation effi-ciency.Therefore,this calculation method could serve as a reference for environmental regulation in pig houses during winter in subtropical regions.
