The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of adding different levels of ru-men degradable starch(RDS)to the diet on tissues and organs, apparent digestibility and intestinal intake of Saanen dairy goats.Sixteen healthy Xinong Saanen dairy goats with similar body conditions were ran-domly divided into high rumen degradable starch group(H-RDS,n=8)and low rumen degradable starch group(L-RDS,n=8).They were fed with H-RDS(crushed corn added)and L-RDS(whole corn added)full mixed diets respectively. The pre-feeding period was 7 days, the trial period was 28 weeks, and goats were slaughtered at the end of the 28th week. The results showed that:(1)The difference in carcass net meat percentage was highly significant(P<0.01)in the L-RDS group compared to the H-RDS group, and net meat percentage in L-RDS group exhibited a significant upward trend(P<0.1);(2)In L-RDS group, the weight of the lungs and the relative proportion of lungs and pancreas of dairy goats increased signifi-cantly(P<0.05),while the weight and proportion of other tissues and organs had no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05),the spleen sediment protein was significantly increased(P<0.05)and the kidney sediment protein was significantly increased in H-RDS group(0.05≤P≤0.10);(3)The starch intake and digestibility of milk goats in L-RDS group showed an upward trend(0.05≤P≤0.10),while the apparent digestibility of other nutrients had no difference(P>0.05).It can be concluded that proper re-duction of RDS level in the diet can improve the growth performance of dairy goats, and the degradation of starch content can increase the weight of tissues and organs of dairy goats and improve the apparent digest-ibility of starch.
