Application of Performance Factors of Soft Magnetic Materials in the Design of High Speed Motors
The stator core loss accounts for a relatively large proportion of the total loss in high speed motor, and the accurate se-lection of stator soft magnetic materials during high-frequency operation limits the improvement of overall efficiency. Therefore, material performance factors were introduced as the selection criteria. The performance factors of non-oriented silicon steel material B20AT1500,ultra-thin silicon steel material 10JNEX900,and new amorphous alloy strip AYFA-Z were used as criteria to obtain the optimal fre-quency range of the three materials. The performance of motors made of three materials under no-load and load conditions was compared by numerical calculation method. The results show that the optimal soft magnetic material within the operating frequency range can be accurately and quickly determined based on the performance factor of the soft magnetic material. Finally,a high-speed motor experimen-tal platform was established, and parameter testing and performance testing of a 120 000 r/min ultra high-speed motor were completed, further verifying the feasibility of using material performance factors as the criterion for selecting iron core materials.
