Study on the Internal Flow Characteristics of Variable Wall Thickness Scroll Compressor
As an important part of the air conditioning system of electric vehicles,the performance of the scroll compressor plays a crucial role in the effective operation of the air conditioning system.A 3D geometric model of a variable wall thickness scroll compressor was built by combining base circle involute with variable radius base circle involute and base circle involute.The unsteady characteris-tics of R134a variable wall thickness scroll compressors were investigated.The eccentric motion of the dynamic scroll was realized by UDF.The internal flow field of the variable wall thickness scroll compressor was simulated by using CFD dynamic grid technology.The reason of periodic fluctuation of outlet mass flow was discussed,and the influence of outlet pressure and speed on compressor perform-ance was further studied.The results show that the outlet flow area and discharge chamber pressure are the main factors affecting the pe-riodic fluctuation of outlet mass flow;when the outlet pressure increases from 0.64 MPa to 1.60 MPa,the isentropic efficiency of the compressor increases from 50.81%to 78.66%,and the volumetric efficiency increases from 93.15%to 94.01%and then decreases to 92.57%;the increase of the speed also has a certain effect on the isentropic efficiency and volumetric efficiency,when the outlet pres-sure is maintained at 1.60 MPa and the speed increases from 2 000 r/min to 3 600 r/min,the compressor volume efficiency and isentro-py efficiency increase from 84.01%and 72.84%to 95.34%and 82.86%,respectively.
