Investigation and analysis of total antibody levels of novel coronavirus in different age stages after novel coronavirus infection
Objective To investigate the level of novel coronavirus total antibody in different age groups after novel coronavirus infection turned negative from 1 to 2 months. Methods 1 009 Patients who underwent novel coronavirus total antibody detection in Shaanxi Provincial People's hospital's outpatient clinic or physical examination center from February 2023 to April 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Comparing the total serum novel coronavirus antibody levels of different genders.Comparing the serum novel coronavirus total antibody levels of elderly patients aged 65 and above and adult patients under 65 years old.According to age,the participants were divided into 3 groups(65 age≤group A<75 years old,75≤group B<85 years old,85 years old≤group C),and compare the serum total antibody levels of novel coronavirus in each group.Correlation analysis between age and total antibody level of novel coronavirus in elderly patients aged 65 and over. Results There was no significant difference in serum total novel coronavirus antibody levels between male and female patients[1430.43(148.95,1466.76)S/Co vs.1023.62(97.79,1483.49)S/Co,Z=-0.66.74,P=0.51].The total antibody level of novel coronavirus in patients aged 65 and above was significantly lower than that in patients under 65 years old[886.36(47.25,1 443.74)S/Co vs.1 139.24(262.02,1 509.74)S/Co,Z=-3.93,P=0.00].The level of total novel coronavirus antibody in group A was significantly higher than that in group B and C[1074.54(143.93,1485.32)S/Co vs.448.42(38.05,1389.25)S/Co;1074.54(143.93,1485.32)vs.176.43(11.29,1258.94),P=0.00];There was no statistical significance in the total antibody level of novel coronavirus between groups B and C(P= 0.00).There was a significant negative correlation between age and total novel coronavirus antibody level in elderly patients aged 65 and above(r =-0.24,P = 0.00).Conclusion Elderly patients, especially older elderly patients, have low antibody levels after infection with novel coronavirus and become harmful.Clinicians should be aware of the risk of reinfection in older people, and relevant experts should consider formulating an immune prevention program for older people.
