Investigation of anxiety and depression in elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy and analysis of related factors and intervention measures
Objective To analyze the situation and influencing factors of anxiety and depression in elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy, and propose intervention measures. Methods A total of 200 elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy were enrolled in this study. The SAS and SDS were used to evaluate the situation of anxiety and depression, respectively. The patients were divided into anxiety/depression group, and non-anxiety/non-depression group.Clinical data of these groups were compared, and logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the influencing factors of anxiety and depression. Results Among the 200 patients, there were 64(32.00%)patients with anxiety and 72(36.00%)patients with depression. The incidence of anxiety/depression was significantly higher in female patients, those with education level of junior high school or below, those with comorbidities, those without anesthesia, those undergoing examination for the first time and those without hospitalization history than in male patients, those with education level of high school or above, those without comorbidities, those with anesthesia, those undergoing many times of examination and those with hospitalization history(χ2=4.511,8.809,12.616,20.624,11.199,5.355,P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis found that female, comorbidities, education level of junior high school or below,no anesthesia and undergoing examination for the first time were risk factors for anxiety/depression in elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy(P<0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy are prone to anxiety/depression.Female,comorbidities,education level of junior high school or below,no anesthesia and undergoing examination for the first time are risk factors for anxiety/depression in elderly patients undergoing digestive endoscopy.Targeted intervention measures can be taken based on these factors in clinical practice.
