Typical Usage of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Treatment of Infantile Eczema Based on Data Mining
Objective To explore the way in which patent compound prescriptions of traditional Chi-nese medicine(TCM)for infantile eczema(IE)are used based on data mining.Methods Related patents were searched for from the"China Patent Full-text Database(Zhiwang Net)".Patent compound prescrip-tions for IE that were published from the inception of the database to June 11,2023 were retrieved.The properties,tastes,and sites of action of the these drug combinations were assessed using frequency analy-sis,cluster analysis,and association rule analysis.Results After screening,a total of 85 patent TCM com-binations and 373 types of decoction pieces(including 31 types of high-frequency ones)were included in the study.The efficacy statistics focused on such properties as heat-clearing and detoxifying,heat-clearing and dampness-removing,toxin-attacking,insect-killing and itching-relieving effects.The medicinal properties were mostly cold,warm and plain while the medicinal tastes were usually bitter,sweet and pungent.The sites of action revolved around the liver,stomach,and spleen.As many as 9 core combinations were obtained.Cluster analysis involved six drug combinations.Conclusion Treatment should be oriented to heat-clearance,detoxification and dampness-removal in the acute stage of IE,and to replenishment of Qi and blood in the later stage.For acute cases,symptoms should be alleviated and for mild cases,the root cause of disease should be addressed.
