Research on the Influence of Circulation Digitization on Chinese Residents'Consumption
With the rapid development of information technology,the digitalization of circulation is progressively deep-ening and exerting a profound impact on residents'consumption patterns.This study employs panel data from 31 provinces(autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government)in China and utilizes a two-way fixed effect model to investigate the relationship between digitized circulation and household consumption.The findings reveal that:Dig-itized circulation can stimulate household consumption,with product and service diversity serving as a crucial transmission factor.Moreover,the influence of digitalization on household consumption varies across regions,urban-rural areas,time peri-ods,and consumer goods types;Exhibiting a more pronounced promotional effect in central and western regions,rural areas,during the period from 2017 to 2020,as well as for development oriented consumer goods enjoyment.Based on these results,it is recommended that traditional circulation enterprises be encouraged to undertake digital transformation initiatives while actively enhancing product、service diversity and optimizing spatial arrangements for digital infrastructure.
