Research on the Path to Strengthening the Supervision System for Social Organization Membership Fees——An analysis based on the membership fees in 760 nationwide social organizations
Social organizations,as important participants in China's social governance system,constitute a significant force within the national governance framework.In recent years,with the rapid development of social organizations in China,there have been notable disparities among different types of organizations regarding the collection and utilization of membership fees.The existing membership fee supervision system fails to meet the evolving needs of social organizations under new circum-stances.How to strengthen the supervision of membership fees is crucial for unleashing the development potential of social or-ganizations,enhancing their governance effectiveness,and promoting their healthy growth.Based on the analysis of member-ship fee collection and utilization among 760 nationwide social organizations as well as insights from the management experi-ences of developed countries in regulating membership fees,this paper proposes policy recommendations for further optimizing China's supervision system for membership fees from the aspects of focusing on refining regulatory measures,strengthening su-pervision of fee utilization,and establishing long-term regulatory mechanisms.The aims are to provide policy reference for improving membership fee supervision,facilitate the implementation of cutting taxes and fees,and enhance the governance ef-fectiveness of social organizations.
