Research on the Lifecycle Carbon Emission Management of Substations under the"Dual Carbon"Background
Substations,as a crucial component of the power industry, play a vital role in fulfilling the"dual carbon"strategic objectives of the power sector.Constructing low-carbon substations is the future development trend and holds sig-nificant importance for achieving"dual carbon"goals and promoting green and sustainable development. This paper, based on systematically organizing and deeply analyzing the carbon footprint throughout the lifecycle of substations and considering the unique characteristics of substation projects, analyzes the boundaries of carbon emission calculations and the methods for carbon accounting, and calculates the total lifecycle carbon emissions of substations. The research finds that carbon emissions during the operation phase of substations account for up to 75%of the total.Implementing carbon reduction technologies such as energy supply substitution, operational optimization, equipment decarbonization, and building energy conservation will sig-nificantly reduce the total lifecycle carbon emissions of substations.Based on this,it is important to focus on accounting for the carbon emissions of substations throughout their lifecycle during the design phase, establish a carbon management information system to track carbon footprints, and scientifically select decarbonization strategies based on carbon reduction potential.
