Research on the Impact of Changes in Comprehensive Transportation Costs on Railway Freight Volume
Studying the relationship between comprehensive transportation costs and railway freight volume is of great practical significance for promoting the shift of bulk cargo from road to rail and optimizing the transportation structure.Based on truck positioning data and railway station-to-station data,this paper studies the impact of changes in comprehensive trans-portation costs on railway freight volume.The results show that transportation prices have a greater impact on railway freight volume than transportation time.A 20％reduction in railway freight rates can lead to an increase in railway freight volume of around 25％,while a 20％reduction in railway transportation time can lead to an increase in railway freight volume of around 3％.Based on this,the paper proposes to further reduce railway transportation prices and improve railway transportation effi-ciency to increase the railway freight volume.
