Research on the Measurement and Spatial Effects of Digital Economy Development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt
The digital economy is a key focus for the development of new productive forces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. This paper is based on panel data from 11 provinces(municipalities)in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2013 to 2020,using a variety of methods to measure the level of digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and summarize its temporal and spa-tial characteristics.A dynamic Spatial Dubin Model is employed to explore the impact of various factors on the digital economy. The results show that:(1)During the sample period, the level of digital economy development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt continues to grow, and the differences among regions are gradually narrowing;(2)The development level of the digital economy shows a positive spatial spillover effect, generally characterized by"a consistently high level in the downstream and slightly lower in the upper and middle reaches,"with high-high and low-low aggregation being the main patterns;(3)The upgrading of industrial structure, the improvement of openness level, the coordinated development of urban and rural areas, the enhancement of education level, and the intensification of urbanization con-struction are all conducive to the promotion of digital economy development and generate positive spatial spillover effects. In view of this, suggestions such as improving the policy system for the digital economy, combining integrated and differentiated strategies, and increasing the research and development efforts of key core technologies are proposed.
