Research on the Impact of Industrial Digitalization on Improving Carbon Productivity in China——Consideration of industrial structure optimization and environmental regulation effects
Digitalization,as the new driving force of China's economic development,plays a key role in achieving the"dual-carbon"goal and has become an important engine for promoting high-quality economic development.This paper veri-fies the impact of industrial digitalization on carbon productivity based on provincial panel data from 2013-2021.The study finds that industrial digitization promotes the increase of carbon productivity,and it still holds on the basis of a series of robust-ness tests.The results of quantile regression show that:The role of industrial digitalization increases with carbon productivity un-der the difference of carbon productivity in the eastern,central and western regions,and the role of Industrial digitalization is greater than that of the eastern region under the lower level of carbon productivity;industrial structure plays an obvious medi-ating effect in the mechanism of industrial digitalization on carbon productivity;There is a double-threshold effect in the posi-tive relationship between industrial digitalization and carbon productivity,that is,the role of industrial digitalization on carbon productivity increases first and then decreases with the increase of the intensity of environmental regulation.Based on this,it is necessary to actively promote the process of industrial digitalization,accelerate the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,and gradually promote the implementation of environmental regulation policies.
