Measurement of Balanced Development in Western Region and Analysis of Regional Differences
Promoting the balanced development of the western region is of great significance to the formation of a new development pattern.Based on the connotation of regional balanced development,this paper constructs an evaluation index system for the balanced development of the western region,and measures the level of balanced development of the western re-gion by the method of vertical and horizontal splitting grades based on the data from 2011 to 2021.The results show that the level of balanced development in the western region has improved from 2011 to 2021.On this basis,the Dagum Gini coeffi-cient method is used to analyze the regional differences of balanced development in western region.The results show that the overall difference of balanced development in the western region is narrowing from 2011 to 2021;In terms of regions,the overall difference between the northwest and southwest regions is also gradually narrowing;In addition,intra-regional differ-ence is an important factor affecting the overall difference of balanced development in the western region.Therefore,the west-ern provinces should combine their own characteristics and give full play to their comparative advantages;Strengthen in-ter-provincial interaction and narrow the gap in balanced development between provinces;promote social progress in the southwest and further narrow the gap between the balanced development of the southwest and northwest regions.
