Review of Research on International Trade and the Wage Gap:Retrospective Analysis and Future Prospects
The wage gap is a classical issue in trade theory.Systematically review these studies can help us grasp the logical context of theoretical development,so as to better apply and develop theories to explain current economic issues.To this end,this paper reviews the relevant theories of trade and wages,delineates the research trajectory,and outlines the basic situation and main research directions of international trade and wage gap studies.It is found that the research still needs to be explored in depth.Further exploration on the micro-mechanisms through which international trade affects wage gap can contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of how the labor market changes in response to exogenous shocks.This is of significant importance for narrowing income disparities and achieving high-quality development.
